Anya's Relationship History

NOTE: This relationship history includes only relationships that occurred or were mentioned on the television series, because that is the only information we have. This doesn't mean, however, that Anya had no other relationships in her 1130 or so years. I'm certain she did.

Olaf: Around the year 879 A.D., Anyanka was dating Olaf, but he cheated on her while he was drunk. Anyanka used magic to curse Olaf with boils on his penis, then turned him into a troll. This attracted the attention of a powerful demon named D'Hoffryn, who elevated her to the status of vengeance demon.

Dracula: Around the year 1579 (guesstimate), Anyanka and Dracula "hung out a few times." She remembers him very fondly and still considers him extremely attractive.

Xander: After she became stuck in her human body, Anya developed quite a yen for Xander at Sunnydale High, and relentlessly pursued him until she finally caught him. Though their relationship started out as purely sexual, it grew into something much more close and committed. In fact, at the end of Season 5, Xander actually asked Anya to marry him ... but several months later, he humiliated her by stranding her at the altar. In her pain and fury, Anya decided to become a demon again ... and Xander has an extreme prejudice against all demons. Then, just to put the icing on the proverbial cake, Xander discovered Anya seeking solace in the arms of Spike (see below) ... the demon Xander seems to despise above all others. Chances don't look good that Xander and Anya will patch things up, but on this show you never know what's going to happen.

Giles: When all of the Scoobies temporarily lost their memories, Anya thought she was engaged to Giles, not Xander. As a result, there was some inappropriately-passionate smooching. When they regained their memories, all Anya/Giles smooching and reference to Anya/Giles smooching ceased abruptly.

Spike: After Xander dumped Anya at the altar and Buffy dumped Spike in his crypt, Anya and Spike were both hurting pretty bad. They got to talking, got to drinking, and then ... well ... nature took its course. To use Anya's very apt term, they sought solace in each other's arms for an hour or so. But that's all it was ... because she still loved Xander and he still loved Buffy. They were just trying to forget and stop hurting for a little while.
